For our collaborative project, Serena, Julia, Shannon, Natalie and I decided to put our experiences and writing skills together to make a Self-care Zine. In it we explain what self-care is, and why it’s important. In between, we have written pieces that offer some insight into our self-care regimens, topped off with a self-care playlist and a list of movies and tv shows that we recommend, and illustrations (because I couldn’t help it).
We felt as though it was important to make this zine, because self-care is something that everyone should practice in order to keep their mental and emotional health in tact. We wanted to show that it’s not easy and it doesn’t always have to look the same, each person can have a different relationship with self-care and that’s fine.
